I Am...

I am.
I am me.
I am my core beliefs. They define me.
I am my past. It has built me.
I am my future. The dream guides me.
I am human.
I am woman.
I am mother.
I am American.
I am a wife, a lover, a friend, a sister, a coworker, an acquaintance, a neighbor, a citizen.
This is my connection to you, and the world.
It is a part of me, but it does not define me.
I am not a label.
I am me.
I am.

I woke up this morning with this poem almost complete. Since April is National Poetry Month, I wanted to share it with you. I hope you enjoy.

What defines you? What would your "I Am" poem look like?
