Pondering Life's Questions...and your Happy List!

What is it that makes you happy? 😁

What do you love to do whenever you get the chance? 😍

A conversation with a coworker the other day made me think about these questions. We had been discussing how to get more out of life than just work, work, work.

And, it made me ponder, "What does make me content when I get time to them?

And, so I started making a list...

What makes me happy?

• Family
• Friends
• Reading
• Genealogy
• Writing
• Photography
• Scrapbooking
• Libraries
• Learning New Things
• Travel ~ Near and Far
• Meeting New People
• Peaceful Country Life
• Walking on our Property
• Watching the Deer/Wildlife in General
• Fishing
• Learning to identify plants, animals, etc.
• Helping to make house & property take shape

AND...

I had an "AHA Moment", as Oprah calls them. Most of the items on my list are things that can be fit into the day, in small or large bites. Very few items take much planning, or would have to be "scheduled" into my life.

When you can make a living doing what you love, and can spend your off-hours enjoying the fun stuff on your Happy List...

It just makes life FUN!

I woke up this morning with this poem almost complete. Since April is National Poetry Month, I wanted to share it with you. I hope you enjoy.

The Guest House has Arrived!

Another step closer to paradise!! Well, at least our version of it! 

The Guesthouse has arrived!  We will temporarily be calling this home, while we finish off the Cabin. 

After that, it will get a chance to live up to its name.  

Then again, it may become the Hubby's Mancave, or Doghouse, depending on the day!!

Our plan is to fix up a patio area in between the two buildings, to enjoy the outdoors with our friends and family, too!

Springing into Spring Like a Blizzard!

Wow! This has got to be one of the craziest weeks, in more ways than one!

After a trip across the state to see my son, the hubby and I ran headfirst into a crazy, busy week.

First, concrete blocks were loaded onto a pallet, and brought near the Guest House site for the foundation.  

Yesterday and today, we have had rock delivered to the Guest House site, also.

But, as you can see by all of the pictures, Mother Nature went a little crazy.  She decided that a few inches of snow needed to be added to the mix. 

We disagree on that point, but she can get nastier than I can.  So, she wins!!

However, the snow makes a beautiful view from the back doorway (soon-to-be doorway) into a spectacularl, beautiful view!

P.S. The hubby just called.  THE HOUSE WILL BE DELIVERED TOMORROW!!

YAY!

FINALLY! 

The rain has finally stopped! 🌧🌧  YAY!!

Just a little bit in the upcoming forecast, but not a tremendous amount. It looks manageable, I think.

So, to take advantage of this beautiful day, we are working outside as much as possible.  

Clearing off the land where the Guest House will be, getting it surveyed, and prepared for the rock padding that is needed.

We have already picked out a paint color or two, and figured out important info...like where the TV needs to go! LOL

Hopefully, we can get it here soon...and get started on making it into the Guest House that we envision. 👀

So, onto my next question?  Who just loves to paint?! LOL,...or maybe not, LOL! I just might be serious!  

I guess we better get it here first! That would probably be a good first step, huh!

If I Known Sooner!

Rain, Rain, Go Away!

Mother Nature is driving us NUTS!   Grr!!!

We are trying so hard to get a little more done each day, but it is not easy when Mother Nature won't cooperate!

A few weeks ago, we bought a shed that someone had already completed most of the house conversions. There is very little that will need to be done to it, once it is delivered.

The delivery guys even called to ask what day we would like the house delivered.  

Good question!  We don't have to do much to get ready for it.  All we need, is just some rock to make the ground 100% level, and that's it.

But it has to stop raining☔🌧☔, and dry out, before this can happen...or the Gravel Guy will get stuck!

This is our current reality, and rain is forecast for the next 10 out of 15 days!

Oh, well, just gotta do what we can do, and wait until we can do the rest, I guess! 

Unless, any of you know an anti-rain dance!  💃💃💃  Then, we might be hiring you!!  💸💰💸
